# 2

In the Market

This is the first in a 30 in 30. my goal is to paint small, loose paintings within an hour during the last of my summer vacation. Going back to work August 3. I'm hoping this process will get me unstuck and less precious. I made the hour deadline so I don't work on them all day. In my last 30 in 30, some took about 4 hours to complete. I still intend to work on larger more finished paintings during this time.

Yellow and Gray

I'm going through a bird phase. They're so cute and fluffy. I named it yellow and gray because I don't know what kind of bird it is? I'm thinking chickadee?

King of the North and Master Copy

Well, 2020 was a long year and life turned rather glitchy, but I'm back. Painting is very difficult and maybe I make it more so by biting off more than I can chew. I hope to rise to the occasion and then I don't finish projects to the standard I hope to reach. These 2 are finished and I'm happy with them. The copy was easy and quick. I think it was done in 1 session. The King was a few sessions and fun to paint. I loved all the details and textures. Happy new year and thanks for stopping by.

Covid 19 Lock down Drawing Series # 1

I've decided to work from life for a while because I feel that working strictly from photographs has gotten stale for me. I have perfectionistic tendencies that I need to get over and I think that working from photos perpetuates that proclivity. This drawing was meant to just be a quick sketch. I even used the back of a used sheet of newsprint. Couldn't stop. I decided that when the pencil was all used up, the drawing is finished. How do you get a pencil like that out of a holder? Pliers.

The Godfather

Whenever I get interrupted in my work flow I gravitate to black in white to get grounded again and regain my confidence. I plan on doing a series of black and white paintings from old movies. This is number 1.

Newish Paintings

I've been struggling with too lazy to photograph and upload paintings. So, I finally got a little motivated. The rooster looks like my grandmother. Ha ha ha, but true. She always had that kind of look in her eye and set to her jaw. I think you can figure out her personality.

Thanks for looking.
